Feel free to look into my window

Everyone has windows, some are open and some are closed. I decided to open a window of my life so that you can come in and see what I am thinking, doing, feeling. Please take some time to see what is going on and comment if you feel the need.

Nike Watch

Nike Watch -You Gotta Know This!

Nike watch
Here is the topic of discussion
I get a chance to rant about things, after all this is my blog...right?!?  If you don't know me, I took up running, rather peer pressured into running, about 12 years ago and have run  numerous races.  I have run everything from 5k's to Half Marathons, to Full marathons, even ran a 11K, didn't know they had that huh?  It was 11.11.11, go figure a 11K race on that day!  I have run solo, with running clubs and even with Team in Training, to raise money for blood cancer cures.  So I figure I can talk about something here when it comes to running products.  So here is the good, the bad, and the ugly on the Nike Watch with GPS.

Time to Run Again

Quick update on what has been happening and where I want to take this blog.

Beachbody Coach Opportunity
This is a great opportunity, message me if you want information
First, after finishing P90X, insanity and P90X2 I decided to become a Beachbody coach, you can see me at http://beachbodycoach.com/Szeszko,  I did this because not only do I enjoy the workouts, but I enjoy helping others and working out with them.  Nothing like doing a day of insanity with someone and them having difficulty and then a week later seeing them go through and pushing through the barrier they were not able to before.

Second, I finished my ISSA Certification and am now a Personal Trainer, Nutritionist, and Exercise Therapist. That will allow me to help even more people, which I am really excited about.

Shakeology
This is MY breakfast EVERY morning
Third, I finished my round of P90X2 and it was amazing.  Lost inches and gained muscle, which is what is needed.  Loving the Shakeology drink and seeing it as a main part of my day now.

Now it is time to figure out what is next, we will be moving to Delaware in about 30 days, so picking up a Beachbody Program, while it would help, I will not br able to complete it before the movers come, so running it is.  Today I hit the trail for the first time in while and it was a surprise how much the Beachbody cardio help me maintain, but not where I had left off.  So it is going to be a quick stint to get back into the running form I was in before, but the journey has begun...the first step was taken this morning.

Big D Marathon

April 11, 2010, the day I had been training for, for about 5 months has come and I am at mile 18 of 26.2 thinking, “what am I doing?” My legs are starting to hurt, it’s hot and humid and I can’t seem to get enough water into my system. But I trudge along, because it is only 8 more miles to the finish. As I watch my pace slow down, I realize my plan B needs to take effect. Plan A was to finish under 5 hours, and I was on track finishing my half in just over two hours and feeling good, now plan B says just finish. A lot of things went through my mind as the miles went on and then the surprise that I needed, my family. I tend to look down as I run, trying not to see what is coming up ahead or where I need to run to I look at spots on the ground and run to the spot, then pick another and another. This time I looked up because we are in a neighborhood and people are sitting in their yards watching the pain and anguish on our faces and offering moments of encouragement. I hear them more than I saw them at first, but Sydney and Madison, with water in her hand, are running at me. I asked what they are doing, I wasn’t to see them until the end. But they answered quickly with mom said it was alright and quickly told me how I was doing such a great job, yeah right I was lucky to be moving at all. Madison was my encourager throughout the race, I didn’t realize it at the time, but looking back at the photos she is the one who is always with me, running and talking to me. I told her I was tired and I wanted to quit, she told me no that the end was so close and she would run the last 5 milers with me if I wanted her to. At 9 years old, 5 miles is a long distance, especially on an open road course, I thanked her and gave a safety reason that she could not come along. Then I did what I have been told I should not have done, I sat down and confessed to my wife I was done. I hurt, physically and mentally and I can’t fix it. I just want to quit and go home, get the car we are done. She, being ever supportive, said look at those girls you quit now what are you teaching them? And off I was again, slowly running.

Where did it go?

Where did it go is a popular phrase in the house latley. Where is my iPod, where are my ear buds, shirt, shoes, the day, where did it go? Seems like we are getting busier and busier everyday and the time is flying by. Seems like I just started the P90X2 routine and 30 days is gone, where did that time go? Now it is the day I need to check on progress and get ready for round two. Not too happy about the check on progress, because while I feel better and think my clothes are fitting alittle on the loose side, this is when the numbers tell the actual story. Wish me luck!
